… again. 2010; a new year. A new beginning. How was your 2009? For me it was a year I think I’m happy to see slip away. There were some good moments, and some bad ones to be sure, and it ended on a high note with a much needed vacation. All that being said however one point became clear. The longer we live, the faster time passes relatively speaking. For me, 2009 flew by in almost the blink of an eye. More than ever, it becomes important to grab every moment and every opportunity.
So what’s in store for 2010? What are the resolutions? I haven’t formalized them yet, but there are a few repeats from past years that I’m guessing I share with others.
In addition to those though, I’ve got a few specific ones that need addressing.
The last one is in part a discovery from a recent trip. I was in New Mexico and observed how people live. It was a vacation, not a business trip, so I actually took some time to look around and to look at myself. Traveling as I do, I need very few things to be happy. Yet, my home is filled. Not just the things out, but the clutter that we accumulate and store away ‘for some day’. I have come to believe that that clutter adds significant stress levels to our lives and worse, hides the important things from us.
In short, I guess my #1 resolution for the year is to live simply and live well. Isn’t that what we all strive for in the end?
